Journalist

I first started writing professionally when I was 15. I began interning at the South Wales Argus and writing for local magazines in my spare time and over the next few years I progressed to writing about music and culture for national titles like The Guardian, Melody Maker and Clash.

After completing a MA in Journalism at Cardiff University, I moved to London to intern at prestigious fashion and lifestyle titles including Vogue, Sunday Times Style, Esquire and The Observer. I balanced my first full-time staff writer role at Top Santé, with a digital beauty column for The Guardian aimed at people of colour and writing about music for NME and Kerrang!

I joined the newly-launched Stylist magazine, becoming their Beauty and Features Writer, penning a wide range of content from beauty, fashion and music features to celebrity interviews and cover stories. With a stack of awards and viral features under my belt, I was approached by Women’s Health magazine, where I worked as Health and Beauty Editor. I then joined Marie Claire as Senior Beauty Editor, tasked with building the beauty editorial content into an inclusive and thought-provoking endeavour. During my time at the title, I started the first plus size fashion column in a luxury title, and embraced a gonzo-esque approach to beauty journalism, from exploring tattoo culture through a feminist lens to trying extreme health trends, earning me a BSME nomination for ‘Columnist of The Year.’
